When did you launch your business?

I started my business in May of 2014. However, it wasn’t until January of 2016 that I made it my full-time gig and things really started to take off on a consistent basis.

Who is your ideal client?

I have a unique perspective on ideal clients because I think to a certain degree this term can be a little restrictive. I mainly market to new coaches who’re ready to start and grow their coaching business but have no idea of where or how to begin. Coaching is their passion but business is simply not their thing. However, I do work with a broad spectrum of service-based entrepreneurs even though I market to new coaches only.

My client’s win:
Over the past month or so I’ve had a big percentage of my clients that started to work with their first batch of paid clients. This means that they finally started to see financial results within their business. This is always thrilling for me. It’s always incredible to see how all their fears, doubts, and insecurities transform into real results, confidence, and momentum. I think what makes it happen is them. Their willingness to put in the inner and outer work. Their capacity to step out of their comfort zones. Their openness to trust me and to trust the process. Because at the end of the day, I’m only a catalyst for their wins, they’re the true heroes here.

My win:
A big win for me this year is that we’re not even halfway through 2017 and I’ve already surpassed my income from all of last year. I was not expecting that at all but I guess when you put in the work relentlessly, miracles like these tend to happen.

What do you believe makes a good entrepreneur?

I absolutely love this question. There are so many things I’d like to say here but I’ll stick to my top three:

1) Learning how to be vulnerable – Embracing the uncertainty and being uncomfortable with stepping out of our comfort zones while simultaneously learning how to move through our daily disappointments.

2) Commitment, congruency, and consistency – Never being one foot in and one foot out, this never ever works. Also, making sure we’re congruent with our work and are always walking our talk. It’s also important to show up day in and day out, even when it’s ‘annoying, boring, or not working’.

3) Willingness to learn – I don’t mean just go to school or take a course type of learning. I also mean learn from all the screw ups and things that don’t go well. When we’re willing to learn, then there’s no such thing as failure, there are only lessons.

How do you handle sacrifice as a female entrepreneur?

For me, it’s just being very aware of what I’m willing to sacrifice and what I’m not. I learned this from Richard Branson.

For example, I’m willing to sacrifice my sleep, my social life, and to some extent many of my assets. What I’m not willing to sacrifice is time with the people I love most, my health, or anything that may get me into large sums of debt (at the moment).

It’s all about being aware of what truly matters to me and what I really want out of my life and business.

Favorite mantra

Here, now.
I know, it can’t get any simpler than this but it’s definitely something I have to constantly remind myself of. As an overachiever, I’m constantly thinking about the future and different ways in which I can achieve more. This can become mentally overwhelming, so I make it a habit to meditate every day to this exact mantra. Because all my future achievements lie within tiny steps that I need to take here and now.

Tell us about your best productivity tip for tackling a tough day.

It really depends. If it’s a tough day and I have absolutely no choice but to get everything done, I’ll hop on a call with one of my coaches or talk to my boyfriend or father. These two men really have a way of grounding me and helping me break down the impossible into tiny pieces of possibilities.

If on the other hand, it’s a tough day and I can push some projects for tomorrow or later, I will take some time for myself. I’ll go to the park, take a nap, or bake some muffins. I feel what I have to feel and pull myself together by taking care of myself. I used to feel guilty about this as if I ‘should’ be working on business stuff no matter what. Then, I remembered that I’m an entrepreneur for a reason. Flexibility to recoup myself in a tough day is part of the reason why I started this in the first place.

What’s ONE thing you’d tell yourself if you could go back to day 1 of your business?

Stop doubting yourself, just show up and do the work. You can’t control everything, you can only control what you do and how you do it. Honestly, I still tell myself this every once in a blue moon.
